From Shopp Documentation

The Shopp documentation project is a wiki, allowing anyone to add to it and make it better. Although Jon (the author of Shopp) makes regular contributions, Shopp-owner contributions make the documentation far better than would otherwise be possible. It also affords Jon more development time to Shopp development, making it a better product for everyone. Your help makes a big difference.

Before you begin contributing to the Shopp documentation project wiki, there are a few procedures to follow.

Getting Started

Create an account
You'll first need to register an account. We require a login to make sure we can keep anonymous types from messing things up too badly. The easiest way to get an account is to create one on the Shopp forums. The Shopp website, forums and wiki all share the same login information.

Create a User Page
After you've got an account and get logged in, create a User Page for yourself. This helps us know how to get in touch with you regarding your contributions and provides a place for you to begin adding user sub-pages for new article contributions. Create your user page by visiting Special:Mypage and clicking the Edit link under the Page Tools menu on the right.

Read the Guidelines
Familiarize yourself with some basic tenants of contributing content to the documentation project.

How To Help

Here are a few ways you can help with the Shopp Documentation Project:

Manage Content

  1. You can help improve our documentation by editing pages for proper grammar, spelling and presentation. Need a place to start? Hit a random page and start editing or visit our Maintenance Tasks page and work on Stub Pages or Copy Edit pages.
  2. Pick something from the Task List that needs to get done.
  3. Create a new article. Find something that needs a guide? Be sure to go over the guide for Help:Adding a New Article.

Maintenance

Help us keep things tidy and organized to make it easy for readers (like yourself) to find information faster and easier. Check out the Maintenance Tasks page to see what needs taken care of.

Discussions

Take part in discussions about directions for the documentation project and Shopp in the discussion pages of the wiki, or on the Shopp Forums. You can have an impact in how Shopp takes shape by being active (and pro-active at that) in discussions and providing your feedback when requested.
